Lonesome Lake and Victoria Lake

This afternoon I finally managed to finish, Lonesome Lake, 12x16". The painting may or may not be any good, but it does look better in life than this photo indicates.
Another photo in different light.
I will flesh out this post with a few photos of Lake Victoria in Uganda. Lake Victoria is the source of the Nile River. These are mostly Whiskered Terns in Entebbe.
I'm pretty sure that this is a Wood Sandpiper.
A Common Greenshank.
Spur-winged Lapwings and Black-winged Stilts.
A somber looking, African Openbill Stork.
Sacred Ibis and an Egyptian Goose in the middle. Sacred Ibis were revered in ancient Egypt where they are now extinct. They are certainly common in Uganda.
Yellow-billed Ducks.
A Scuacco Heron in Mabamba Swamp near Entebbe.
A Purple Heron at the same place.
Best of all, a Shoebill also in the Mabamba Swamp. Uganda is the best place to see this very rare bird.

John, the moose painting is very well done; Bravo!! You are lucky to be able to paint so much....I wish I did but want to change that in the new year. Happy Holidays and keep on painting!

Thank you Colette. The truth is that I do not paint much anymore. I had to get a real job and I get burned out on painting quickly anyway. A few hours painting time a week is plenty for me now.

Huh, that's too bad John. I am in a similar predicament which is so unfortunate for us REAL artists who are trying to make a living as opposed to a hobby or pastime. Hope to see some of your work soon, your scenes are wonderful.
